Softening Point Ring & Ball (ASTM D36 / EN 1427)

Determines the temperature at which bitumen phase changes from solid to liquid under standard steel ball weight.

Ductility Test (ASTM D113 / EN 13398)

Evaluates cohesive flexibility and elasticity by measuring elongation before breaking at 25°C.

Determines flow resistance at 60°C and 135°C for asphalt mixing and pumpability.

Measures safety threshold temperature to prevent ignition during refinery heating and handling.

Verifies 100% active bitumen content and absence of inorganic mineral impurities.
