Penetration Test (ASTM D5 / EN 1426)

Measures hardness and consistency of bitumen at 25°C under 100g load for 5 seconds.

Standard Result: 60 - 70 dmm (Pen 60/70) | 80 - 100 dmm (Pen 80/100)

Softening Point Ring & Ball (ASTM D36 / EN 1427)

Determines the temperature at which bitumen phase changes from solid to liquid under standard steel ball weight.

Standard Result: 49°C - 56°C (Pen 60/70) | 80°C - 90°C (Blown 85/25)

Ductility Test (ASTM D113 / EN 13398)

Evaluates cohesive flexibility and elasticity by measuring elongation before breaking at 25°C.

Standard Result: Min 100 cm

Absolute & Kinematic Viscosity (ASTM D2170 / D2171)

Determines flow resistance at 60°C and 135°C for asphalt mixing and pumpability.

Standard Result: Min 2400 Poise (VG-30) | 30 - 60 cSt (MC-30)

Flash Point Cleveland Open Cup (ASTM D92)

Measures safety threshold temperature to prevent ignition during refinery heating and handling.

Standard Result: Min 250°C (Penetration) | Min 38°C (MC-30 Cutback)

Solubility in Trichloroethylene (ASTM D2042)

Verifies 100% active bitumen content and absence of inorganic mineral impurities.

Standard Result: Min 99.5% Purity

To ensure complete peace of mind for international buyers, Urum Bitumen facilitates third-party inspection at loading ports (Bandar Abbas or Mersin). Inspectors take random drum and tanker samples to issue official Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Weight & Quantity Certificates.
